CITIZENS COMPASS— Eight days after the burial of popular Gospel singer, Taiwo Adegbodu, four armed men have invaded their residence in the South Western part of Nigeria.

The surviving twin brother, Kehinde, disclosed this in a ten-minute video posted on their social media handles.

Kehinde, who was visibly troubled, narrated how he received the shocking news of the gunmen’s invasion through the widow of his late brother.

According to him, the video became necessary to let the world know about the blow-by-blow account of their financial capacity.

He said himself and his late twin brother were not financially endowed as their only car and some other items were gifts from people.

He said: My name is Kehinde Adegbodu, JP. I want to thank those who rallied round us physically, spiritually and financially to give my twin brother a befitting burial. I will soon release another video to appreciate you fully as this particular video is as a matter of urgency.

Unlike my late twin brother, I am not a social media person but the issue at hand has pushed me out to release this video.

Before the burial, a committee was organised headed by my father, Olayinka Oja, who created a group to solicit for financial assistance to support the burial. The arrangement was well supervised by our father, Yinka Ayefele.

An issue occurred on Tuesday night while I was away to Osun State. At about 9p.m, I got a distress call from Taiwo’s widow who informed me that four armed robbers invaded our house.

She said immediately when they arrived, they requested for the late Taiwo’s mobile phone, gold, and car key but were told that Kehinde had travelled with the mobile phone and car but they insisted on seeing Kehinde.

They ransacked our rooms, carted away clothes, cash, phones, pairs of shoes and other items but I thank God that nobody was injured.

Why I am making this video is that I was told that one of the armed robbers put a call across to somebody informing him that, “we did not meet Kehinde at home. I am: we met children and women and we are not sure that this family is rich.

I came out for security reasons as this is the only way to express myself in order to forestall future occurrences. My thought was that the money realized through the platform created by my father, Yinka Ayefele, was the target.

The fateful day was the eighth day of the burial and it is unfortunate that the armed robbers were less concerned that we are mourning.

I want to do something which may not be certified by my father, Yinka Ayefele but this is the only way to clear my mind and save my family from further attacks because what happened has created fear in my family.

The armed robbers invaded the house at about 9p.m and spent about 45 minutes.

I want to post the income and expenditure for the burial and will accompany these with enough evidence to prove that my family is not financially bouyant.

Before Taiwo was buried, the house was uncompleted and we tried to put finishing touches to it and this was courtesy of the financial support.

I will post the receipts online with my account balance incase anyone is planning to invade our house again. Please, we don’t have money and I don’t want anyone to add to our predicament…

Citizens Compass reports that Taiwo’s residence is located in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. He was laid to rest at the newly built house, on March 31, 2026. He died on Sunday, March 1, 2026.
