Police intercept suspected robbers, recover Okada in Lagos
CITIZENS COMPASS—The Lagos State Police Command on Friday, said it has arrested three suspected robbers during a routine patrol around Idimu in the Alimosho area of the State.
While conducting a search on the suspects, the operatives recovered some personal effects like mobile phones, power bank and cash perceived to have been forcefully recovered from their prey.
Spokesperson for the Command, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed the arrest in a statement.
According to her: The Lagos State Police Command has recorded another operational success in its ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities across the State. In the early hours of Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at about 2:00 a.m., operatives of the Command on routine patrol along Car Wash Bus-Stop by First Bank, in Idimu area of the State, intercepted three individuals on a motorcycle.
Upon search, the three (3) suspects, identified as Abdullahi Mustapha ‘m’, 20 years, Salisu Sannusi ‘m’, 30 years, and Jamiu Sahidu ‘m’, 26 years, were arrested. A search on the suspects led to the recovery of a machete concealed in their clothing, army camouflage uniform, four (4) mobile phones, one (1) power bank, suspected to have been unlawfully taken from the owners, some squeezed Naira notes and a Bajaj motorcycle with number plate, AKD 40 OM, reportedly used for mobility in carrying out their criminal operations.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects have been involved in robbing unsuspecting members of the public before fleeing the scene. They are currently in Police custody; efforts are ongoing to conclude investigations and ensure appropriate legal action is taken.
