#Free Nnamdi Kanu protest holds in October 20
CITIZENS COMPASS—Former Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) Omoyele Sowore, will on Monday, October 20, 2025, lead a peaceful protest to the Aso Rock Villa against the continued detention of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Citizens Compass reported that Kanu has been detained by the Departed of State Services (DSS).
Citizens Compass reported that Burkina Faso President, Ibrahim Traore, recently chided the Nigeria government saying the trial of Nnamdi Kanu by the Nigerian government is a stain on African conscience.
Traore spoke at a recent African Union summit.
Sowore on his social media post said, “We now have a date for the historic #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest march to the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja, it is October 20 at 7AM!”
Earlier, Sowore had called on well meaning Nigerians from the South-East region to be part of the protest.
