FRSC mobile court convicts 22 traffic offenders in Ogun

CITIZENS COMPASS— The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Ogun State Sector Command yesterday, conducted a Mobile Court session at Ijebu-Ode Unit Command so as to prosecute traffic law violators, along that corridor.

The session, presided over by Magistrate O.D. Odunsi, saw a total of 22 motorists arraigned for various traffic infractions. Following a transparent legal process, all 22 offenders were convicted, resulting in a 100% conviction rate. No offenders were discharged during the proceedings.

A total of 70 separate offences were recorded across the cases, with the court imposing various fines as penalties. Analysis of the proceedings identified Number Plate Violation (NPV) as the most prevalent offence among the prosecuted motorists.

The Sector Commander, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi while commenting on the exercise, reiterated that the mobile court is a strategic intervention aimed at deterring reckless road use and ensuring that offenders face immediate justice.

He warned motorists to ensure their vehicles are properly registered and that number plates are clearly visible at all times, as the Command will continue to maintain zero tolerance for vehicle identification fraud and other safety breaches.

The FRSC remains committed to its goal of creating a safer motoring environment for all Nigerians and urges the public to cooperate with its officers in the discharge of their duties.
