Gunmen abduct sister of governorship aspirant

CITIZENS COMPASS— Gunmen reportedly struck in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Wednesday and kidnapped the sister of Adebayo Adelabu, former Minister of Power and her twin children.

Adelabu was a governorship aspirant in the state.

The incident occurred in the Challenge area of Ibadan South-West Local Government Area of the State.

Viral videos on social media captured the moment the abductees were matched into a car and drove off to an undisclosed destination.

One of the videos captured a red car with its doors open at the scene of the incident.

The car appeared to be visibly damaged with the window of the driver’s side smashed while glass fragments scattered on the ground.

Another video captured some onlookers with some viciously exhibiting fear at the scene.

The former Minister popularly known as ‘Penkelemesi’ is a governorship aspirant in the State.

It was learnt that the abductee is the last born of the Adelabu family.

Confirming the incident, Femi Awogboro, a media aide to Adelabu, said that the victims were abducted while traveling from Elewura toward the expressway when armed men attacked and whisked them away.

He said the victims are Adelabu’s younger sister and her twin children, identified as Peter and Paul.
