CITIZENS COMPASS— A hotel allegedly harbouring suspected bandits has been uncovered in the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.

However, the Council Chairman of the area, Mr. Charles Wobodo, has ordered law enforcement agents to seal off of the hotel with immediate effect.

The suspected bandits were said to be terrorising the area which raised concerns that attracted the Council prompting the Chairman to swing into action.

Communities like Ipo, Igwuruta and Igwuruta-Ali have reportedly been attacked by bandits.

In a statement on weekend, the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Wariso Wariso, in a statement said the reason behind the seal -off of the Hotel was based on credible evidence.

He said the Ikwerre council had activated a search for the criminals saying: “Today, we have come here with all the witnesses, we have got full evidence that they harbour the bandits and kidnappers here. With all the evidence we have, this hotel is permanently sealed off.

“When we say people should profile all those living with them, people don’t understand that. We don’t say don’t give a house to people or accommodate people, but what we are saying is that you need to get simple information about the person you are giving your house to.”
