CITIZENS COMPASS— The Council Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA), Ikorodu Division in Lagos State, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun yesterday, joined the Member, Federal House of Representatives representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in Lagos, Babajimi Benson, to inspect an ongoing road project in the area. The visit underscored the shared commitment of both leaders to delivering sustainable development and improved living conditions for residents.

The project, situated within the densely populated Apalura and Selewu communities, Igbogbo, and facilitated by Hon. Babajimi Benson, forms part of a broader effort to open up the axis, ease the daily burden of commuters, and unlock economic opportunities that have long been constrained by poor road infrastructure. For years, residents in the area contended with difficult terrain that hampered movement, discouraged commercial activity, and posed daily hardship, particularly during the rainy season.

The project is a significant example of how the Renewed Hope vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR*, is transforming communities and delivering prosperity to the people. It also exemplifies how *Hon. Babajimi Benson* continues to strongly champion the total quality developmental direction of the Renewed Hope vision.

During the inspection, Hon Benson and Chairman Aroyewun* took stock of work already completed, engaged directly with contractors on site, and reviewed the project timeline to ensure continued adherence to quality and delivery standards. The inspection enabled both leaders to directly evaluate construction progress, engage contractors, and reaffirm expectations regarding quality standards and timely completion.

Speaking, Aroyewun described it as another practical demonstration of what purposeful collaboration between the National Assembly and local council administration can achieve for ordinary citizens. He noted that infrastructural development remains a central pillar of his administration’s GLORY Agenda, an acronym representing Good Governance, Learning, Optimal Wellness, Roads, and Youth and Sports, and commended *Hon. Babajimi Benson’s consistency in attracting federal-level interventions to complement the council’s own development strides.

In his remarks, Hon. Benson reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that democracy dividends reach every corner of his constituency, noting that the Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe Road is one among several ongoing and completed projects he has facilitated within IBLCDA. He expressed confidence in the pace of construction and pledged continued oversight until completion.

As construction progresses, residents of the area are optimistic that the project will not only improve accessibility and ease transportation challenges but also stimulate economic activities, increase property values, and enhance overall socio-economic development within the community.
