CITIZENS COMPASS— The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, on Friday, convened a strategic security meeting with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Commanders of the Police Mobile Force (PMF), and Tactical Commanders across the State to review the security situation and reinforce operational readiness.
During the meeting, the Commissioner of Police charged all Commanders to remain proactive, vigilant, and committed to their responsibilities. He emphasised the need for sustained intelligence gathering, effective supervision of personnel, and prompt responses to security threats within their respective Areas of Responsibility (AOR). He urged the officers to maintain the highest standards of professionalism in the discharge of their duties and disseminate the same to their foot officers.
In a significant demonstration of support for the Command’s efforts to safeguard lives and property, the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) donated 200 bulletproof helmets and 200 bulletproof vests to the Command. The donation aligns with the Command’s commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring the safety of officers deployed for various security assignments across the State.
The protective equipment was formally handed over to the Commissioner of Police by the Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, who reaffirmed the Trust Fund’s commitment to supporting security agencies with the resources required to effectively discharge their responsibilities in safeguarding lives and property.
The Commissioner of Police expressed profound appreciation to the LSSTF and its leadership for their continuous support and partnership in strengthening security infrastructure and improving the welfare and safety of police personnel. He noted that the protective equipment would not only enhance operational effectiveness but also serve as a morale booster and confidence-building measure for officers engaged in frontline policing and other critical security operations.
The Commissioner of Police also commended the good people of Lagos State for their consistent cooperation, support, and partnership with the Police in maintaining peace and security across the State. He acknowledged the critical role of residents in providing useful information and supporting law enforcement efforts, which have contributed significantly to the Command’s successes. He therefore appealed for greater collaboration and sustained support from all stakeholders as the Police intensified efforts to rid the State of criminal elements and ensure the safety of all residents and visitors.
He further urges residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the Police through the Command’s emergency lines: 07061019374, 08065154338, 08063299264, 08039344870, and 09168630929.
