Last moment of former gubernatorial candidate who died in Lagos 

…N210m allegedly moved from his account  

 

CITIZENS COMPASS—Fresh facts emerged on Friday, following the death of the former governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ondo State, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye, who died in Lagos State.

The deceased popularly known as Oba was said to have died mysteriously following some injuries he allegedly sustained in the comfort of his home though was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.

The death of the politician has sparked controversies among Nigerians.

Citizens Compass reported that Akingboye died at his Victoria Garden City (VGC) residence, Lagos State, on Wednesday.

He was aged 60.

The social media was awash on Friday following a gory picture of his body which evidently captured some injuries.

His last moment 

On that fateful Wednesday, it was gathered that all was fine in his house until later in the day when A hot argument ensued and this led to an altercation.

A source told Citizens Compass that the deceased sustained injuries following the altercation.

The source said, “There was a serious fight in his home and Akingboye was forcefully pushed and he hit his forehead on the tiles. He was rushed to the hospital, he passed out!

Although reasons for the altercation could not be established at press time, it was gathered that plans were underway to uncover this as arrests have been made.

In a viral video, an overseas-based investigator cum a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Olujimi Adewale Lijoka, said, “I am not a court and anything I am saying here is allegedly. Three hours after the death of our brother, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye popularly known as Oba, the sum of N210m was moved out of his account.”

According to him, the sum of N150m was found in the account of someone very close to the deceased. Also, N50m was allegedly found in the account of another person and finally, N5m was found in the account of a third party.

He said, “I am using this medium to call on our brothers and sisters to unravel the death of this gentleman.

“Otunba was an easy going friend.”

He called on Ikale sons and daughters to unravel the death.”

Akingboye was said to be a lover of peace and a philanthropist who hailed from Okitipupa in Ondo State.

He was a gubernatorial candidate during the November 2024 governorship election in Ondo State.

Citizens Compass learnt that Akingboye used to be wealthy until the economy situation in Nigeria took a toll on his finances about t four years ago.
