LASTMA, others rescue trapped victims at Ojuelegba  

 

CITIZENS COMPASS —THREE accident victims have been rescued at Ojuelegba in Lagos after they were trapped in a multiple accident.

The accident occurred on Sunday noght  Ojuelegba inward Stadium on Funsho Williams Avenue, Surulere, Lagos.

Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) in conjunction with Police and other emergency responders were said to have rescued the victims. 

LASTMA spokesperson, Adebayo Taofiq disclosed this in a statement on Sunday night saying, “Traffic Officer Olajide Olukoga ‘Bravo’ who led the LASTMA rescue operations at the scene of the accident confirmed that a 40ft container fell on top of a Toyota Corolla car (JJJ 811 FB) at the top  Ojuelegba bridge inwards Stadium.

” He confirmed further that out of those three casualties rescued from the Toyota Corolla saloon car, only one (male) came out unhurt and was allowed to go immediately. 

” The remaining the rescued casualties (an adult male and a female) were rushed to hospital by an ambulance belonging to Lasema.

” Police men from Surulere Police Division were on the scene to provide adequate security. 

“While the entire Ojuelegba bridge inwards Stadium  was temporarily closed and traffic diverted to the service lane by Lastma as rescue and recovery operations are ongoing.”
