CITIZENS COMPASS— Nicolas Maduro Guerra, son of captured Venezuela’s President, Nicolas Maduro, on Monday, told the United States President, Donald Trump, to return his parents to their country.

Guera, a lawmaker in the country, spoke before Venezuela’s parliament warning that his father’s capture by the United States of America (USA), may set a dangerous international precedent.

He accused the US President of undermining global stability.

The speech marked his first public appearance since Saturday’s escalation and came as Washington has stepped up pressure on Venezuela’s leadership to align with its plans for the oil-rich country.

Guerra, popularly known as Nicolasito, called for international backing for his parents’ release.

According to him, “If we normalize the kidnapping of a head of state, no country is safe. Today it’s Venezuela. Tomorrow it could be any nation that refuses to submit. This is not a regional problem. It is a direct threat to global political stability,” he said.

Meanwhile, former Venezuela’s Vice President, Delcy Rodriguez, has been sworn in as acting president following the capture of Nicolas Maduro and his wife.

Taking an oath on Monday, Rodriguez said, “I come with pain over the kidnapping of two heroes who are being held hostage in the United States. I also come with honor to swear in on behalf of all Venezuelans.

Similarly, Maduro pleaded not guilty to drugs, weapons and narco-terrorism charges filed against him by the US.
