Mohbad: Coroner summons Naira Marley, Sam Larry, Prime Boy

CITIZENS COMPASS — As investigations into the death of the Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba popularly known as Mohbad are intensified, a coroner court sitting in Ikorodu, Lagos State, on Friday, summoned the Chief Executive Officer of Marlian record label, Abdulazeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, his colleagues, Owodunni Eletu popularly known as Sam Larry, and Owodunni Ibrahim popularly known as Primeboy. 

The Coroner Magistrate, Adedayo Shotobi, summoned the trio to appear before the court on October 25, 2023. 

He said the purpose of their appearance is to shed light on the tragic incident and identify individuals responsible for it. 

Earlier, preliminary enquiries into the death of the late Nigerian singer will begin on Friday, September 29, at the Magistrate court in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

The coroner instructed the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, to ensure the presence of the music stars at the next adjourned date of October 25, 2023. 

The Coroner’s Court has the duty of investigating the causes and circumstances surrounding certain deaths that are considered to be unnatural, violent, or cases where the cause remains unknown.

Recall that Mohbad died on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 and was buried the following day. 

The Nigeria Police Force has commenced investigation leading to the arrest of an Auxiliary nurse who administered injections on Mohbad before he ghave up the ghost. 

Apart from the Auxiliary nurse, the Police also detained Sam Larry, Naira Marley, Prime Boy and one other. 

The mother of the Auxiliary nurse had cried out that her daughter learnt nursing for three years.
