CITIZENS COMPASS—It was a day of celebration recently as telecommunications giant, Globacom, rewarded subscribers with millions of naira through its Jolly Product Cash Award initiative, a scheme that continues to combine entertainment with empowerment for Nigerians. The prize-presentation ceremonies, held in different cities nationwide, showcased winners across various categories including Jolly Life Lottery, Jolly Wheel, Jolly Win, and Jolly Trivia.
The spotlight fell on Sunday Efenure, a 69-year-old technician from Edo State, who emerged winner of the ₦1 million grand prize in the Jolly Wheel draw. After receiving his cheque at Gloworld, Adeola Odeku, Victoria Island, Lagos, Efenure revealed that he was initially skeptical. “With the rate of scams in the country, I didn’t believe it. My wife told me to check, and I even asked my son to make verifications about it. When he confirmed it was real, I hurried down to Lagos. I am grateful to Glo for this life-changing reward,” he said with excitement.
Esther Clifford, a resident of Abuja, who walked away with ₦500,000 under the Jolly Win category, described her reward as “a blessing that came at the right time.” Likewise, Christopher Onajobhe from Warri, Delta State, who won ₦200,000, commended Globacom for continually improving the lives of its subscribers.
Another memorable moment came from a resident of Ibadan, Oyo State, 39-year-old Taiwo Oni who received a ₦500,000 prize in the Jolly Life category. His twin brother, Kehinde, who accompanied him, expressed his excitement in Yoruba, exclaiming, “E chop am o! me sef don run go buy my own glo sim. I must win”, he declared enthusiastically.
Other recipients included Denem Usman Maji from Nasarawa, who received ₦100,000; Godwin Udanna from Onitsha, Anambra State, who was awarded ₦100,000; and Enugu-based Ijeoma Anogwa, who received ₦200,000. They all described the winnings as timely financial support that would significantly ease personal and family responsibilities.
Globacom’s Head of Value Added Services (VAS), Mr. Mojeed Aluko, who presented the prizes in Lagos, emphasised the company’s commitment to appreciating customer loyalty. He congratulated the winners and urged more Nigerians to take part in the Jolly promos Nigerians to participate in the Jolly promos by dialling *13199# on their Glo lines and following the menu prompt to join the list of winners. Tolulope Aminu, representing Tetragrammaton International, Globacom’s partner in the scheme, also encouraged the winners to share their experiences. “These promotions are not only exciting but also life-changing, as today’s testimonies have shown,” she remarked.
