NNPC sheds light on new pump price   

 

CITIZENS COMPASS —Contrary to reports that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has slashed the price of Premium Motor Spirit also known as petrol, the company has denied the reports urging the public to disregard them. 

The social media wss awash with a report titled, “NNPC adjusts pump price nationwide:”

The report which gave the new pump prices depending on the location said it would be sold at ₦488/litre in Lagos while it would go for ₦500 in Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti states respectively. 

It pegged the price at ₦537 in Abuja, Plateau, Nasarawa, Kogi, Benue and Niger states. 

However, Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer NNPC Ltd. in a statement dated Wednesday, March 27, 2024 said, “The NNPC Limited wishes to clarify rumours suggesting a price adjustment for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Automotive Gas Oil (Diesel) at its retail stations nationwide.

The company asserts that these reports are false and urges Nigerians to disregard them entirely.

“NNPC Ltd. reaffirms its commitment to sustaining the current sufficiency in petroleum products supply across all its retail stations in the country.”
