CITIZENS COMPASS— The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, on Monday, advised President Bola Tinubu to avoid organising a parade for the 2026 Independence Day celebration on October 1st.
He warned that this could expose the country to danger if care is not taken.
Ayodele sounded the warning in a video posted on his social media handles.
October 1st, 2026, marks Nigeria’s 66th Independence anniversary.
He said, “October 1st, President Tinubu should cancel the parade. If he attempts to go ahead with it, there is danger in it.”
Ayodele did not provide specific details or evidence to substantiate the nature or source of the danger he warned about in the video.
The cleric’s warning comes as Nigerians prepare to commemorate the country’s 66th Independence anniversary on October 1, with official activities expected to mark the occasion.
According to Ayodele, “And to Nigerians, don’t collect anything from any politician because of the election. Vote your conscience. Vote for the right people. Vote for people who will truly serve the interest of the people.”
