Oto-Awori LCDA adopts Abiodun Kings FC as official team

CITIZENS COMPASS—Oto-Awori Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State, has adopted Abiodun Kings FC, as its official team.

Abiodun Kings FC is the bronze medal winners of the just concluded Ojelabi Cup Badagry football competition in the State.

A statement by the Public Affairs Unit of the LCDA on Wednesday, stated that the team was given a hero’s welcome by the LCDA, with Hon. Kareem Azeez Abiodun, the Executive Chairman, presented them with an additional ₦1 million as a gift for their third-place finish at the tournament.

The team paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Abiodun in his office, where they were officially recognized and congratulated on their achievement. Hon. Abiodun expressed delight in adopting Abiodun Kings FC as the official team of the LCDA, saying it was a move that would promote sports development in the area and provide opportunities for young talents to shine. “We are committed to supporting sports development in our community, and Abiodun Kings FC is a key partner in this endeavor,” he said.

Hon. Abiodun announced that Abiodun Kings FC will henceforth represent the LCDA in any competition and will receive allowances and necessary kits to aid their performance. He specifically mentioned the upcoming community football competition, which will be announced soon, saying the team will be equipped and prepared to make a mark.

The team expressed gratitude for the recognition and the gift, and promised that the team would make the LCDA proud and use the opportunity to promote unity and sports development in the community.

The LCDA’s support for Abiodun kings FC is seen as a significant boost to sports development in the area, and is expected to spur the team to greater heights.
