CITIZENS COMPASS— The Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has explained how he acquired his wealth, particularly ownership of private jets.

He said his wealth has nothing to do with his church.

The cleric made the remarks while discussing wealth creation and how people could achieve financial success through legitimate means rather than questionable activities.

Videos from the programme have since gone viral.

Oyedepo explained that although it took him some time to afford his first brand-new car, his entry into aviation happened much sooner.

Speaking about his assets, Bishop Oyedepo said, “It took me time to drive the first new car, but it didn’t take me time to start flying.”

He added, “I’ve never taken a dime from this church to buy any of my planes, and I have 4 planes. I use anyone I like if one is faulty.”

The Living Faith Church founder also encouraged people to pursue legitimate ways of building wealth while warning against what he described as destructive shortcuts to financial success.

Oyedepo cautioned his audience against turning to drug-related activities and betting as means of becoming wealthy.

He said, “You don’t have to do drugs or NaijaBet. Wealth gotten by vanity shall diminish.”

His comments have attracted attention, particularly his disclosure that he owns four planes and his claim that church funds were not used to acquire them.

The remarks have also sparked renewed discussions about wealth creation, entrepreneurship and the sources of income of prominent religious figures in Nigeria.
