Police arrest 13 officers over indecent dressing 

CITIZENS COMPASS —The Rivers State Police Command has arrested 13 officers for dressing indecently while on official duties. 

The officers were arrested during patrol operations conducted by the Monitoring Unit across various areas as part of an ongoing campaign to eradicate indecent dressing among command officers.

Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, confirmed this during a radio programme in Abuja, on Sunday, December 3, 2023. 

He said the heads of the Units or Divisions where the arrested officers serve will be held vicariously liable. 

The CP said the arrested officers are in detention pending further investigation.

While addressing the tragic killing of SP Bako Angbashim, the late Divisional Police Officer of Ahoada Police Division, by suspected Iceland cult members, reportedly led by Gift David, also known as 2Baba, he assured the public that the case will not be overlooked. 

Diisu expressed gratitude for the public’s concern and actively engaging with stakeholders in Ahoada to enhance police-community relations.

He stressed the importance of trust and information-sharing, he outlined proactive security measures for the upcoming Yuletide season, reiterating his commitment to fostering a harmonious relationship between the police force and the community for maintaining peace and security during the festive period.
