CITIZENS COMPASS— A few hours after the take over of the secretariat of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), in Abuja, the Nigeria Police Force has arrested a factional leader, Tajudeen Baruwa.

Recall that Bariwa reportedly led members of his faction to storm the union’s headquarters, attempting to seize control from the rival group loyal to Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo).

Eyewitnesses said the incident created tension around the secretariat as supporters from both factions clashed over control of the union’s leadership structure.

A police source confirmed the arrest, stating, “We moved in swiftly to prevent a breakdown of law and order after reports of a forceful takeover. Tajudeen Baruwa has been taken into custody, and investigations are ongoing.”

The development marks a fresh escalation in the ongoing leadership crisis within the NURTW, with authorities now stepping in to restore order and prevent further unrest.
