CITIZENS COMPASS— Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command on Thursday, said they have arrested three suspected members of a notorious armed robbery and carjacking syndicate in the Alakuko area of Lagos State.
The suspects, identified as Faruk Rasheed, ‘m’, 20 years; Olamilekan Ademola, ‘m’, 28 years; and Abidemi Oluwawemo, ‘m’, 21 years, were tracked down and arrested. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects allegedly specialised in car snatching and robbing innocent citizens of their valuables.
According to spokesperson for the Command, Abimbola Adebisi, who confirmed this in a statement, a search conducted on the suspects led to the recovery of two locally made pistols loaded with five cartridges and one locally made revolver pistol loaded with three rounds of 9mm live ammunition. The suspects are currently in police custody, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the syndicate.
