Police arrest woman brutalising orphan in viral video 

 

CITIZENS COMPASS – Operatives of Lagos State Police Command have arrested a woman captured in a viral video brutalising a girl perceived to be an orphan.

The said girl was said to be staying with the suspect around Ile-Epo-Oke-Odo area of the State.

The woman was said to have brutalized the girl and asked her to openly take her bath.

A neighbor who was angered about the development was said to have captured the scene in the video and this drew the attention of the Public.

She was thereafter arrested and the girl handed over the the Government.

Confirming the development on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson, Lagos State Police Command, in a post on his X Handle said, “The woman captured in a now viral video maltreating a female child, 32-year-old Funmi Faith, has been arrested. 

“She was arrested by police officers from Oke-odo Division yesterday, Tuesday, June 4, 2024. 

“Meanwhile, the child has been handed over to the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development for proper care and shelter.”
