Police nab armed robber who robbed man, raped wife in his presence

CITIZENS COMPASS —The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested a suspected armed robber accused of assaulting a 20-year-old housewife in the presence of her husband.
This occurred in the Ringim Local Government Area of the state.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP AT Abdullahi, disclosed this yesterday, during a press briefing.

He said the suspect, along with two accomplices, was arrested following the reported incident.

According to him, the suspects, identified as Abubakar Isah, Umar Ibrahim, and Umar Nasara, reportedly armed with cutlasses, unlawfully invaded the residence of Mudan Ibrahim in Chori Village, Ringim LGA. They allegedly robbed him of five bags of pepper before one of them sexually assaulted his wife, Ummi Garba, aged 20.

Promptly reporting the incident to the Ringim Division, Mudan Ibrahim’s swift action led to detectives’ intervention. The suspects, all residents of Chori village, were apprehended in connection with the crime.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the robbery and rape case. They were subsequently transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Dutse for further investigation.
Assuring the public, CP Abdullahi stated that upon the completion of the investigation, the suspects would be arraigned in court. He emphasized the police command’s commitment to ensuring justice for the victims and maintaining law and order in the state.
