Police nab robbery gang, recover exhibits

CITIZENS COMPASS —Bauchi State Police Command says it has, in collaboration with “a quasi-security outfit”, arrested five members of a robbery gang after they attempted to rob a resident of his Peugeot car.

A statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, and made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), gave the names, sex and ages of the suspects as follows: Musbahu Umar ‘m’ aged 23yrs of Tirwun area Bauchi, Salim Hamisu ‘m’ aged 30yrs, Sadiq Nura AKA Abba ‘m’ aged 22yrs, Abubakar Aliyu ‘m’ aged 22yrs, Mohammed Mohammed AKA Abba ‘m’ aged 20yrs.

“The suspects armed with dangerous weapons criminally conspired among themselves and trespassed into a house belonging to one Dr. Kabiru Umar ‘m’ of Shehu Wunti Quarters Bauchi, and attempted to rob him of his car, a Peugeot dark-blue in color and other valuable items. But they were chased and arrested,” the statement revealed.

The statement further explained that the suspects have confessed to the crime, and will be charged to court after the Investigation.

Among the items recovered from the suspects on arrest were; Two empty white leaders of new machetes, One Honda Car ignition key, and Two Qlink motorcycle ignition keys.

The Command vows to intensify the investigation to arrest other fleeing members of the gang within a short time.
