One shot, two arrested as cultists clashed in Lagos 

 

CITIZENS COMPASS —Police in Lagos have arrested a 20-year-old Hammed Olawale and 23-year-old Japhet Oderinde as two rival cult groups went on rampage in the State. 

Officers from Igando Division made the arrest while responding to a distress call that two rival cult groups had gone on rampage. 

Confirming this on his X handle formerly known as Twitter, spokesman, Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, said both suspects were in possession of some exhibits at the point of arrest. 

He said, “The two suspects were found in possession of a locally fabricated semiautomatic pistol with four live rounds of 9mm ammunition. 26-year-old Abeeb Fagbohun was found shot and promptly taken to hospital. 

“Efforts in top gear to arrest fleeing suspects.”

Arrest in Iba

In a related development, Police from Iba Division have arrested one Solomon Balogun on weekend. 

According to the spokesperson on his X handle, Balogun was arrested during a robbery operation. 

“Officers from Iba Division have arrested one Solomon Balogun ‘m’ on January 27, 2023 after information was received that three men on a motorcycle were robbing people of their possessions. A pistol and live cartridges were recovered from the suspect and investigation is ongoing.”
