CITIZENS COMPASS— The Ogun State Police Command on Thursday, said it has traced a TikToker, popularly known as Mirabel, to Ogijo, Ikorodu Division in Lagos State.
The Police also debunked the rumour making the rounds that Mirabel was in its custody.
Spokesperson for the Command, Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this in a statement.
The alleged rape by Mirabel had sparked heated debate on social media as the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency(DSVA) has commenced investigations into the allegation using the hashtag #StopRapingWomen.
Mirabel is a TikToker with the username @mirab351 who claimed the incident occurred on Sunday, February 15, 2026.
Things later took a different dimension as the TikToker released another video to debunk the rape allegation.
Some social media users also alleged that Mirabel was arrested by the police for misleading members of the public.
In a statement titled, “Ogun Police clarify handling of alleged incident in Ogijo, confirm victim was not arrested,” the Command said:
The Ogun State Police Command states that the victim reported at Ibafo Division on Wednesday and informed officers that the alleged incident occurred in the Ogijo area. She was promptly taken for medical assessment and thereafter conveyed to Ogijo Division, being the jurisdiction where the incident reportedly happened.
At Ogijo, it was confirmed that she was not in a stable condition to provide further details. She was immediately taken for a comprehensive medical check-up, and her health is being closely monitored, as her wellbeing remains paramount.
At no time was the victim arrested. The Police are handling the matter professionally and urge the public to verify information through official channels before dissemination.
