Police train personnel to protect human rights

 

CITIZENS COMPASS—Personnel of the Zone 2 Command Headquarters under the leadership of AIG Adegoke M. Fayoade on Wednesday, underwent a refresher training on the Use of Force in the Discharge of Statutory Police Duties facilitated by AIG Adeoye Adeniran Oluwafimihan (Rtd).* The training was held at the M.D. Abubakar Conference Hall, Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan Lagos.

The refresher training bothers on:

1. The primary duties of a Police Officer as a Protector and promoter of human rights,

2. Methods of crime prevention,

3. Application of armed and unarmed forces,

4. Legality, Proportionality, Accountability and Necessity for every action,

5. Justification for the use of firearms and

6. Investigation and Report Writing.

The refresher training was aimed at updating knowledge and skills of personnel to meet up with global standard of operation and reviving skills lost due to dereliction.

The retired AIG Adeoye Adeniran Oluwafimihan shared a great deal of experience and knowledge with personnel of the command during the training.

AIG Adegoke M. Fayoade while expressing his profound gratitude to AIG Adoeye Oluwafimihan (Rtd) for making out time to facilitate the training exercise also reminded personnel on the need to upgrade performance especially for those who operate with obsolete work procedures.
