Protesters demand release of suspected killers of Deborah Samuel in Sokoto

SCORES of protesters, on Saturday,  trooped into some parts of Sokoto State to demand the release of arrested suspects over the killing of a student, Deborah Samuel in the state.

Recall that Deborah Samuel, a 200-level student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, was killed on Thursday over alleged blasphemy.

According to eye witnesses’ account, the protesters who stormed streets in large number, wielded placards with inscriptions such as, “Release our Muslim brothers”, Muslims Are Not Terrorists”, among others.

At press time, efforts were being made to disperse them.

Meanwhile, the State government has imposed 24 hours curfew.
