Three dead, seven injured in Ogun multiple accident

CITIZENS COMPASS— The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Sector Command, on Saturday, confirmed that three people were dead while seven others were injured in an autocrash along the Onipepeye axis of the Abeokuta-Sagamu (ABK-SGM) route.

Spokesperson for the Command, Odunsi Afolabi, disclosed this in his updates.

According to him: The Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Sector Command, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi has reported a fatal multiple-vehicle traffic collision that occurred today, April 18, 2026, at the Onipepeye axis of the Abeokuta-Sagamu (ABK-SGM) route.

The incident, which occurred at approximately 5:40 PM, involved a Sino truck and an Opel passenger car. FRSC rescue teams from the Sector Command responded within seven minutes of the report, arriving at the scene by 5:52 PM.

Total Persons Involved: 10 (4 Adult Males, 3 Adult Females, 2 Female Children, 1 Male Child)

Total Injured: 7 (3 Adult Females, 1 Female Child, 3 Adult Males)

Total Fatalities: 3 (2 Adult Males, 1 Female Child)

Preliminary investigations indicate the probable causes of the crash were Speed Violations (SPV) and Loss of Control (LOC).

The injured victims were immediately evacuated to State Hospital Ijaye for urgent medical treatment. The deceased have been deposited at the same hospital’s mortuary. No items were recovered from the scene at the time of the report.

The Sector Commander ,Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, continues to urge motorists to maintain safe speed limits and ensure their vehicles are in good mechanical condition to prevent avoidable traffic crashes.
