CITIZENS COMPASS— A Nigerian man in his seventies simply identified as Joe has reportedly been deported into the country after spending 50 years in the United States.
To compound his woes, he has no home in Nigeria as his family members are all in the United States.
His granddaughter shared the story on TikTok describing the situation as devastating for the family.
According to the TikToker, the grandfather travelled to the United States at the age of 19 and had not returned home until the deportation occurred.
“This morning, I woke up to the saddest news I could ever receive. My grandfather, who has been in the United States for nearly five decades and no longer has a place to live in Nigeria, has been deported.
“All his family is here. He has no place to live back home. To wake up to the news that he can never return has been truly heartbreaking,
“Everything is happening so fast; we still haven’t heard from him.”
