Why General Overseer of Lord’s Chosen suspended newly wed son

CITIZENS COMPASS—Pastor Lazarus Muoka, the General Overseer of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Movement, has given reasons why he decided to suspend his newly wed son, Benhail Muoka.

The wedding was held on Saturday, July 26, 2025.

The General Overseer’s son wedded Precious Duru while the suspension occurred shortly after the wedding.

Mouka spoke during a church service broadcast on Chosen Son TV.

According to him, his son went contrary to the tenants of the church, especially during an important occasion like a wedding. Because of that, he said he had no choice but to take immediate action.

According to him, it’s important for parents to discipline their children, no matter how old or educated they are. He stressed that failure to correct children can lead to bigger problems later in life.

He told the congregation that he had to relieve his son of some duties right after the wedding so he could feel the impact of the discipline.

He said, “Look at what would have happened. And if you don’t learn a lesson from this, you might be a victim of your own words. Which is not the will of God for you. So, control your children. Let them be subject to you. Let them fear you. Let them do what you want them to do.”

He went on to emphasize how urgent discipline should be when a child does wrong.

The pastor then revealed what happened after his son’s wedding.

Even me, at this point in time, I still discipline my children. One of them wedded yesterday, I disciplined him last night. Yes. I said, you are now suspended because you must do what I asked you, what I am teaching in your wedding. So, I have to do what? Discipline him.”

He explained the reason behind the suspension, saying it was meant to make his son reflect on his actions.

“I said now, you will stop whatever you are doing, so that you will have pain. So, you have to discipline your children. Don’t allow them to overgrown you and then perish. So, I discipline my own children and you have to discipline your own children.”
