YIF advises Tinubu against Military intervention in Niger 

 

CITIZENS COMPASS – THE President of Yoruba Indigenes Foundation (YIF), Dr Olumide Aderibole on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, advised President Bola Tinubu, against Military intervention, in Niger Republic.

The group gave the advice via a press statement, signed by Mr Sanjo Olawuyi, YIF Director of Communications and Strategies L.

Aderibole said “invariably, Military approach in Niger Republic will result into: huge loss of lives and properties of innocent citizens of Niger Republic; it will precipitate into massive cross border illegal emigration; outbreak of epidemics in Niger Republic, which will spread to neighboring countries; it will result into wastage of a huge sum of money, which may translate into Billions of Dollars; it will cause disability and civil unrest in Niger Republic; businesses and economic activities will be adversely affected; hunger and starve will emanate in the country”

He enumerated series of alternative approaches that may be put in place: a high powered consultations, negotiations and dialogue, speedy installation of civilian interim administration and staging of referendums in the country.

He added, “if President Bola Tinubu succeeds in reinstalling constitutional rule in Niger Republic, without military approach. Propensity and Golden Annals will immortalize his name in their golden pages”
