
Herdsman goes missing, 33 cows killed
CITIZENS COMPASS—A herdsman, identified as Manu Mamuda, has been declared missing while 33 cows were killed in Adamawa State.
18 other cows were also declared missing.
The incident reportedly brought tension among residents of Shelleng Local Government Area of the State.
Confirming the incident on Tuesday, spokesman for the Adamawa State Police Command, Suleiman Nguroje, said the incident occurred in the Kiri area of the council.
According to him, “Police have been deployed to the area to control the situation.
As I’m talking to you, officers are already on the ground to ensure the situation does not escalate and the perpetrators are arrested,”
The herder, as gathered, had gone out to graze but failed to return.
A source who pleaded anonymity said, “When his people went to search for him, they discovered 33 cows killed and 18 missing.
Mamuda’s cap was found on the ground with blood stains and some gun cartridges,” the source said.
