CITIZENS COMPASS— An attack by two dogs has reportedly sent a 70-year-old woman to her early grave in Great Britain.
Until the attack, the deceased lived in a residential property in the Wolverhampton area.
The Police have since commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
It was learnt that emergency services were called to Willis Pearson Avenue on Wednesday afternoon after reports that a woman in her 70s had suffered serious injuries. Despite rapid response efforts, she was confirmed dead at the scene.
According to West Midlands Police, two dogs were involved in the attack. The animals, which are not believed to be a prohibited breed, were later put down after officers said they remained highly aggressive when emergency responders arrived.
A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being in charge of dogs that were dangerously out of control and causing injury resulting in death. He was also taken to hospital for treatment after sustaining hand injuries.
Authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances that led to the fatal attack. Officers are currently gathering evidence and speaking to witnesses as part of the early-stage inquiry.
Police have urged members of the public with relevant information to come forward as they continue to piece together what happened at the property.
