School gets new classrooms, modern toilet facilities in Igbogbo-Baiyeku

CITIZENS COMPASS—The Salvation Army Primary School, Agunfoye, Igbogbo, in Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA), Ikorodu Division in Lagos State have received a newly constructed block of six fully furnished classrooms.

The school also received eight modern toilet units within its premises.

The classrooms were facilitated by a Member, Federal House of Representatives representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Babajimi Adegoke Benson, while the toilet facilities were provided by IBLCDA Chairman, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA).

The facilities were commissioned on Thursday to mark a significant intervention to bring relief, comfort, and renewed confidence to pupils, teachers, and parents alike.

The commissioning ceremony attracted community leaders, traditional rulers, education stakeholders, leaders of the All Progressives Congress, parents, teachers, and government officials, many of whom described the intervention as timely, impactful, and reflective of purposeful leadership.

The Secretary to the Local Government, Alhaji Qudus Oduntan, who represented the council chairman commended Benson for a job welldone saying “Hon. Babajimi Benson has continued to demonstrate that representation goes beyond occupying office; it is about responding meaningfully to the needs of the people,” he stated. “The Aroyewun administration considered it important to complement this laudable project with the construction of a modern toilet facility to ensure that our pupils learn in a clean, healthy, and dignified environment.”

Speaking on behalf of the Agunfoye Elders Council, Alhaja Iyabo Salisu expressed gratitude to both Hon. Benson and the LCDA administration, noting that the project had restored hope to many families within the community.

“Our children can now attend school in a more comfortable atmosphere,” she said. “This project represents care, progress, and genuine concern for the future of our children.”

In his remarks, the Education Secretary for Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Alhaji Taiwo Ogunbo, described the project as a major boost to public primary education and called for sustained collaboration to address growing infrastructural needs across schools within the division.
