CITIZENS COMPASS— The All Progressives Congress (APC), Osun State, yesterday, cried out over an alleged plot to forcefully take over its 30 council secretariats and the Area Office.
Osun APC alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was involved in the plot.
The party disclosed this in a statement by its Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, who claimed that the PDP executive members were mobilising “hardened political hoodlums” from within and outside the state to carry out the invasion.
The party alleged that the plan was emboldened by the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke and was being executed in collaboration with the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, which it described as a willing tool of the state government.
Information has it that the illegally selected PDP local government council executives have employed the services of hardened and dangerous political hoodlums from within and outside the state to carry out the invasion at any moment from now,” Olabisi said.
The APC referenced a Supreme Court judgement which it said described the purported PDP council executives as “unknown to the law of the land.”
The party called on the Osun State Police Command, the Department of State Services and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps to take proactive steps to avert a breakdown of law and order.
“There is no tact and diplomacy in a set of hoodlums teaming up to promote disruption of public peace in the state on a matter that is still very much alive in the Court of Appeal,” the statement added.
