CITIZENS COMPASS —A viral video has captured a fatal accident which reportedly claimed the lives of some family members on Port Harcourt Road in Owerri, Imo State capital.
The family, yet-to-be identified was said to be travelling against traffic (One Way) in a metallic colour Toyota Corolla car when the accident occurred in the morning, on Friday, December 15, 2023.
According to the video, a male background voice said that the accident involved the car and a truck-laden with bags of rice.
He said the truck driver on sighting the car tried to manoeuvre the steering of his vehicle to avoid the accident.
In the process the truck overturned and landed on the car killing all the occupants on the spot.
The video also captured some sympathisers at the scene of the accident trying to orevent secondary accident.
The male voice said, “A trailer just fell down on Port Harcourt Road, Total filling station, Abor Junction. The trailer was trying to dodge a Corolla car plying One Way, causing heavy traffic on the road.
“Look at people coming to rescue it carrying load from the truck, people dey inside the moyor like this. Look at it, a whole family “dey insiide this motor’.
Citizens Compass learnt that another truck was deployed to the scene to offload the bags of rice.
