Fire outbreak averted in tanker accident

 

CITIZENS COMPASS -EMERGENCY responders in Lagos have averted a fire outbreak in Anthony-Oke area of the State when a tanker-laden with 45 litres of fuel was involved in an accident. 

LASEMA raised the alarm at about 8p.m. on Friday, August 4, 2023, in a statement signed by Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of the Agency. 

“The Agency activated its response plan to a potentially dangerous situation in which a DAF tanker with registration number EKY 360XY carrying 45,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) was involved in a solitary accident. 

” Due to the prompt actions of the first responders, the highly flammable contents were successfully transloaded into another empty tanker while the entire area was blanketed by the Lagos State fire and rescue service to prevent any secondary incident. 

” The agency’s Crane was used to recover the tanker off the road and subsequently handed over to police officers from Pedro police station.

*Recovery operation concluded.”
