CITIZENS COMPASS— Plans are underway in Anambra State to ban mid-week burial if plans by the state governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, succeed.
The ban was being considered as part of efforts to improve productivity in the State.
Soludo disclosed this at a recent event saying, “And by the special grace of God that is now over. I will be on the street from Monday to Saturday. Tuesday, burial, Wednesday, burial, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, burial,” Soludo said.
The governor noted that the increasing number of lavish and prolonged burials has turned into a major social concern, adding that new measures would be introduced to regulate the trend.
