
Hard drug: Student jumps from three-storey building, dies
CITIZENS COMPASS– The effects of hard drug have reportedly rubbed on a student Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka in Anambra State as he died after jumping from a three-storey building.
The incident occurred at about 8:00 pm on Thursday at a lodge near Royal Kitchen junction, close to the school gate.
He was said to be rushed to a nearby hospital where he was confirmed dead.
Residents said the student had consumed hard drugs (MKPURUMMIRI) before the incident.
Neighbours reported hearing a loud sound and later found the victim’s body lying in a pool of his own blood.
Further investigations revealed that the student’s roommate was also under the influence of the same substance, as he was found in an incoherent state in their room.
The roommate has already been arrested and is currently in police custody, where he’ll be questioned once he stabilizes.
But the identity of the deceased has not been disclosed, pending notification of his family.
Authorities are working to reach the family while investigations into the incident continue.
As of the time of filing this report, police or school authorities have yet to confirm the incident.
