Ibom Air: Pilot narrates what transpired before nude video of female passenger went viral
CITIZENS COMPASS—The pilot of the Ibom Aircraft aboard the Uyo-Lagos flight has revealed what transpired between the Air hostess and female passenger, Comfort Emmanson, whose nude video went viral last week at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport,Lagos State.
The pilot said the dispute had been resolved before the airborne.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has summoned the passenger, air hostess, Juliana Edward, and other members of the cabin crew.
Citizens Compass reported that the nude video went viral on August 10, 2025.
The crew were invited for investigations.
The pilot said that the incident had been resolved before takeoff in Uyo.
Michael Achimugu, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at NCAA, confirmed the development on Tuesday during the Emergency National Civil Aviation Security Committee and Stakeholders’ Meeting in Abuja. Responding to questions after his presentation, he said the Authority had already spoken with Emmanson earlier on Tuesday. She and her colleagues are scheduled to appear before the NCAA on Wednesday for continued investigation.
“I spoke with Ms. Emmanson this morning. We are also inviting the Ibom Air cabin crew for continued investigation on the incident. They will be here tomorrow,” Achimugu said.
He explained that the pilot-in-command did not immediately call in security after landing in Lagos because the matter seemed to have been resolved before departure from Uyo. However, Emmanson, who visited the restroom after touchdown, was the last passenger to disembark, which brought more attention to the incident.
Achimugu assured stakeholders that the NCAA would conduct a thorough probe to establish all facts surrounding the case, which has sparked wide public debate.
Senator Buhari Abdulfatai, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Aviation, also spoke at the meeting. He highlighted that poor discipline among air travelers and lapses in professional conduct among airport workers and crew members have contributed to rising unruly behavior in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
While noting that some industry players deliberately violate existing rules, Abdulfatai commended the NCAA for enforcing regulatory standards and urged other aviation agencies to support the Authority’s efforts in safeguarding the industry.
