Lodger allegedly steals hotel property, bites officer’s finger

CITIZENS COMPASS: THE Ogun State owned Security Outfit known as Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) has arrested a lodger, Muhammad Abubakar, for allegedly stealing some valuables in a hotel located in the state..

The corps disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, December 7, 2022.

According to the statement issued from the Office of its State Commander, Soji Ganzallo through its Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Moruf Yusuf, the theft occurred at about 1:00hrs on Friday January 6, 2023.

It said the resident of Oloko Area in Ado- Odo Ota Local Government Area was arrested for stealing electronic devices and other valuable items in the hotel room where he lodged at Keke Hotel, Iyana Iyesi, Ota in Ado Odo Ota Local Government Area.

Ganzallo revealed that immediately the Corps got wind of the information, that one of the customers in the hotel is behaving otherwise, the Corps Special Team in the newly created Ilogbo Area Command of the Corps under ACC Idris Odukunle swung into action and the Mupin Division of the Corps got him arrested.

Ganzallo said that the officers headed for the hotel where it was gathered that the suspect came together with a yet-to-be identified lady, at about 11pm on January 5, 2023, to book a room.

He noted that the lady after some hours reportedly moved towards the main entrance of the hotel, but was stopped by the hotel attendant and was asked to turn back, return to the room she lodged with her man friend but to their surprise, Abubakar has loosened electronic devices which includes CCTV Cables, ceiling fan and other valuable items in the room.

The Commander said the suspect resisted arrest and bite the finger of one of the officers.

The suspect and the exhibit recovered from him had been transfered to the Nigeria Police, Onipanu Divisional Headquarter for further investigation and likely prosecution.”
