Missing married woman reveals why she was found in hotel

CITIZENS COMPASS— The 42-year-old missing woman who was found in a hotel in Ondo State, yesterday, addressed some major concerns about her journey.

The married woman, Olatunde Funke, debunked the earlier reports that she was found with a married man in the hotel insisting that she owed nobody an apology except her church, the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC).

Recall that she was found in a hotel around the Akoko area of the State.

Olatunde disclosed this in a viral video.

She said on the fateful day, what happened was beyond her control as she was not familiar with the environment where she boarded a commercial motorcycle.

“I was not familiar with the terrain and I only asked a commercial motorcyclist to take me to a nearby hotel along MTA Road.

The embattled woman said she was facing a matrimonial challenge which her lawyer had warned her not to disclose publicly.

According to Olatunde: “That very day, something happened that led me to that hotel. I’ve never been into that place before. I’ve never been to that town before.

“My clothes were stained with blood because of my monthly menstrual flow and I needed to clean it but the mistake I made was that I switched off my mobile phone and my family was worried because I had never embarked on such a journey.

“I was inside that room throughout that day. I didn’t go out… I only asked for water.”

Addressing claims linking her to a 55-year-old man, she clarified that the individual was not her companion but someone she contacted for assistance through a phone number previously used by a former tenant known to her family.

“The person they are referring to as the old man… it was the number that woman used to call me,” she explained.

She said she had reached out to the man to help purchase basic items, including slippers and sanitary pads, as she could not step out at the time.

“I gave him money and he brought what I asked for… that was the last time I saw him,” she stated.

“The police just came and said, ‘Madam, you’re under arrest.’ I told them he didn’t kidnap me, but they didn’t listen.”

“I saw news going viral that a man lodged me… they were even saying I had died. I’m still alive. There was nothing like that,”

“I had to apologise to the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide… my name has been tarnished.

“I owe them an apology… I do not owe any other person an apology.”

Citizens Compass reported that the woman was found in the hotel after she was declared missing in Ilara-Mokin was found in a hotel in the Ugbe/Ikare-Akoko area, a situation that had triggered public concern and widespread speculation before her reappearance.
