CITIZENS COMPASS —BARELY a week after the death of Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba popularly known as Mohbad, Nigerian singer, rapper and the CEO of Marlian record label, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley has lost over 500,000 followers on Instagram.
The CEO had 7.5 million followers on Instagram before some celebrities started to unfollow him.
A popular artiste, Funke Akindele, Don Jazzy and many othees top the list of the celebrities that unfollowed Naira Marley.
The figure began to drop until the ‘Issa Goal’ crooner lost 500,000 followers.
There is no direct evidence linking Naira Marley to the death of Mohbad, but clips that have been trending on social media since Mohbad’s death last week Tuesday have done little to spare the singer from the anger of many grieving music fans, who are calling for an investigation.
However, the police officially began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death on Monday.
The deceased’s father, family members, and witnesses met with the Lagos state commissioner of police to commence the inquiry.
Meanwhile, protests took place in Ogun, Lagos, Ondo and Ekiti states on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 as protesters demanded justice for the late singer.
The protests continue on Wednesday, September 20th, and Thursday, September 21st.
