CITIZENS COMPASS—The Delta State Police Command on Wednesday, said it has arrested a mother of two, identified simply as Lilian, for allegedly stabbing her lover to death during a domestic dispute.
The incident occurred at Ijanpa Road area of the state.
Spokesperson for the Command, Bright Edafe, confirmed this in his updates made available to Citizens Compass.
“I just interviewd a 21 year old girl who has been cohabiting with a 34 yr old guy for the past four years, she has two children for him. If she’s 21yrs now, which means she started living with this guy since she was 17yrs. Now they had a fight with him, stabbed the guy in the heart and killed him. Who do you blame? The girl, the society or her parent who cpuldnt raise her amd gave her out at 17 without a bride price? Her english is so fluent, and she stopped schooling at SS2. 😭😭😭😭😭
Edafe in a post on his X Handle formerly known as Twitter, said during interrogation, the suspect admitted to stabbing her partner in the chest during an argument that turned violent.
“She claimed he attempted to end their relationship, which led to a quarrel.
“She said he beat her with a cane and smashed her head on the ground before she rushed to the kitchen to get a knife.
When he advanced towards her, she stabbed him despite warning him to stay away,” Edafe wrote.
