Naira redesign, fuel scarcity targeted at Nigerians, not politicians – Onuesoke

CITIZENS COMPASS– A Chieftain of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Sunny Onuesoke has said that the lingering fuel scarcity and redesigned of 200, 500 and 1,000 Naira notes in Nigeria is a sabotage to impoverish and increase the sufferings of Nigerians especially as the 2023 elections are approaching.

Onuesoke who spoke on Thursday, in a telephone conversation with Citizens Compass, said the sabotage is not in any way targeted at any of the presidential candidates to scuttle their chances of winning at the polls.

The former gubernatorial candidate in Delta State said the situation is becoming alarming and taking its toll on the masses who spend hours queueing at fuel stations or in search for the redesigned notes asg the closing date tickles.

However, he said there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Recall that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu had at a campaign rally in Abeokuta, Ogun State on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, alleged that the naira redesign policy and the fuel scarcity were impediments to his emergence in the presidential election.

Tinubu however said he would nevertheless overcome them to victory.

Onuesoke said the presidential candidate had spoken the mind of Nigerians by passing message to the Federal Government as reminder that the nation is in a crucial situation brought about by the lingering fuel scarcity and redesigned Naira notes..

He said both are far from the reach of the common man. “Tinubu has just spoken the mind of Nigerians but he should not have personalized it as the scarcity is targeted at the masses.”
