
Passengers injured as bus somersault on Third Mainland Bridge
CITIZENS COMPASS-—Many passengers of a commercial bus popularly known as Danfo were injured on Monday, when the bus somersaulted on Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State.
The somersault also affected a Toyota Camry which was traveling in the axis.
The accident occurred before Adekunle Junction, inward Lagos Island as confirmed by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on its official Facebook page at about 4p.m.
The agency said no life was lost.
Some pictures at the scene captured some rescued passengers sitting by the roadside as an emergency response was activated.
“A road accident between a Toyota Camry and a commercial bus “Danfo” has left several passengers injured on 3rd Mainland Bridge.
“The accident occurred before Adekunle Junction, inward Lagos. The commercial bus somersaulted multiple times.
“RRS bikers and patrol vehicles are assisting in giving first aid to the injured passengers, while men of the Adekunle Police Division are equally on ground, and are providing rescue support.
“Emergency services providers have been mobilised.
“No life lost in the unfortunate incident.
“Free flow of vehicular movement has been restored and the ill-fated vehicles evacuated from the road.”
