Pastor’s wife quits 20 years marriage after church programme
CITIZENS COMPASS—After 20 years of marriage, a pastor’s wife has reportedly dumped her husband and children upon stepping off the shores of Nigeria into the United States of America (USA).
The cleric shared the devastating experience at a church programme.
According to him, the overseas trip was sponsored by him unfortunately this turned out to be his undoing.
He said they both received an invitation from Morris Cerullo Ministry in 2016 for a programme in the United States. He said, “I told my wife that the people told us to pay for flight tickets and that they would take care of us in America. I told her that since she was not working and I was busy with business and taking care of the family, she should be the one to travel.”
The pastor said he prepared his wife for the trip, paid for her ticket, and she left Nigeria for the United States.
He continued, “In fact, I have not said this thing in public before. We have lived for 23 years. My first son is 31. We have five children. I was worshipping with CPM for almost 26 years. I was a teacher in the church — JFC teacher, Sunday school teacher for so many years — and my wife was a full-time pastor.”
After returning from the programme two months later, the man said his wife’s attitude changed drastically. She began to complain about life in Nigeria and constantly talked about returning to America.
Out of love and support for her ministry, he said he sold his car and raised funds to ensure she could go back, especially since she already had a two-year visa. “My wife came back two months after the program. Nigeria was now disgusting to her. She was always talking about America.
In 2017, she returned to the United States, and according to the pastor, that was the last time he saw her. Reports later reached him that she had married another man.
He added that their problems began immediately after her first trip. “We wrote a correspondence in 2016, and that was how everything started. Since she went back, I haven’t seen her again,” he said sorrowfully.
The story has stirred emotional reactions online, with many sympathizing with the pastor over his painful experience and betrayal from the woman he trusted.
