CITIZENS COMPASS—The Lagos State Police Command on Saturday, confirmed the arrest of an armed robbery suspect in the Ikorodu area of the State.
Citizens Compass reports that the operation was carried out by a team of Special Tactical Operatives from the Command.
The suspect, Omotayo Iwajomo ‘m’, was arrested at his hideout.
Confirming the arrest in a statement, spokesperson for the Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, said, “On July 15,2025, at about 0100hrs, based on credible intelligence, a team of Special Tactical Operatives from the Command arrested one
Omotayo Iwajomo ‘m’, a notorious armed robbery suspect, at his hideout in Ikorodu. Items recovered include one (1) AK-49 rifle with Breech No. N704983, three (3) magazines, seventeen (17) rounds of 47.62mm live ammunition, and three (3) rounds of 9.19mm live ammunition.
“The suspect confessed to being the leader of a gang responsible for several violent crimes in Lagos. He is currently in custody and assisting in the apprehension of other gang members.”
