Police removes Benjamin Hundeyin as Force PRO
CITIZENS COMPASS—Barely six months after his assumption of office, the Nigeria Police Force has removed Benjamin Hundeyin as Force Public Relations Officer (Force PRO).
Until his appointment as the Force PRO, Hundeyin was the Police spokesperson in Lagos State.
His removal was part of the ongoing reform by the substantial Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu although reasons for the removal could not be established.
Hundeyin was appointed Force PRO in September 2025.
His removal was noticed on Thursday.
He succeeded Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who had earlier been promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police.
The Badagry-born police officer was originally appointed as FPRO by former IGP Egbetokun. He was also recently promoted, on February 3, 2026, from Superintendent of Police to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).
