Sanwo-Olu’s Aid dies in lone accident

CITIZENS COMPASS– OMOTAYO Sanyaolu, a Senior Special Assistant on Tertiary education, Youths and Students Affairs, to Lagos State Governor, has reportedly died in a lone accident which occured in Maryland, Lagos State, on Friday.

The incident occured at Army Cantonment, Maryland area at about 4.01am.

The incident reportedly occured when his Black Toyota Camry with number plate, LAGH 32 which was on top speed rammed into the Automated Teller Machine, ATM, of a new generation bank.

He was said to have lost his life following the impact of the accident.

His remains were immediately bagged and handed over to the cantonment officer on duty for further details while the accidented vehicle was recovered from the scene.

This was done by the first emergency responders at the scene of the incident.

The deceased was the fouth to die in an auto crash on Friday, July 29, 2022.

Recall that two male soldiers and a female civilian lost their lives in the early hours of the day when a truck rammed into their vehicle at Obadeyi, along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.

Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, while giving an update about the incident said the emergency operations have been concluded at press time.

“Upon arrival at the scene, it was discovered that a Black Toyota Camry with registration number LAGH 32 while at top speed rammed into the Keystone Bank ATM at close to the aforementioned location.

“Unfortunately an adult male who was the sole occupant of the vehicle died on the spot and his remains were immediately bagged upon arrival of the responders.

“These have been handed over to the cantonment officer on duty (Officer Musa).

“The affected vehicle was recovered with the aid of the Agency’s light towing vehicle to a layby.

“Operation concluded. No further update.” He added.
